Chateau Lill Wedding-Alice and Dean’s classic country club-styled wedding

Married June 6, 2025

Alice and Dean reached out to me after they booked the gorgeous Chateau Lill for their June wedding. They wanted assistance with help bringing their wedding vision to life which involved wanting a country club feel mixed with nods to their Chinese and Greek cultures.

Dean’s father managed a country club while Dean was growing up, so the feeling of having a classic feeling wedding design was something that was important to them. There was a great mix of their cultures reflected with Alice’s Chinese culture featured in custom fortune cookies that Dean made into escort cards for their guests. They attached a Greek evil eye to each to help bring forth Dean’s culture in the escort cards as well.

Since Alice likes to play a lot of basketball, we looked at bringing in a pop-a-shot game, but the logistics of that wasn’t working for their wedding day, unfortunately. Instead, she wanted to have a game day entrance feel for their wedding party entrances into the reception. This also allowed us to set up the surprise piano song she was going to play for Dean. Alice had trained as a classical pianist and Dean mentioned it would be fun to hear her play on the piano that’s at the Chateau. Alice pushed it away initially, but decided to surprise Dean on their wedding day. The basketball entrance inside near the piano was the perfect distraction so Dean didn’t notice anything gone awry. Needless to say, he was surprised and thrilled by the song, as were their guests.

The reception tables were set with off-white linens with navy napkins and a clear charger with a gold rim. Alice and Dean sat at a sweetheart table that was at the end of a long head table for their wedding party and their partners. The rest of the guests sat at round tables with a mix of compote and tall centerpieces (repurposed from the ceremony) and bud vase centerpieces with taper candles. In the center of each table was a gold table number and a booklet for guests to fill out with wishes for each year of Alice and Dean’s anniversary. Every table number had a different anniversary for them to open the booklet on, which I know will provide an amazing keepsake for them for years to come.

After dinner and toasts, guests came inside for dessert, dancing (including some traditional Greek wedding dances) and cigars outside on the balcony. At the conclusion of the party, we assembled the guests outside for a sparkler exit while Alice and Dean shared a private last dance together inside. They exited through the sparklers and hopped into a vintage Rolls Royce to complete their amazing day.
