Lairmont Manor Wedding-Brie and Shawn’s colorful and joyful spring wedding

Brie and Shawn reached out to me after seeing that I was on the preferred vendor list for the gorgeous Lairmont Manor up in Bellingham. They were planning a spring wedding and wanted some assistance with bringing their colorful vision to life.
Brie wanted the day to feel happy and joyful so wanted their colors and design to reflect that. Coming up with a color palette of oranges and blues, we worked together to solidify stationery, florals and a tablescape that worked well together with having it feel intentional.
We visited BBJ La Tavola for their linens because they have the best selection around, plus I knew that the local linen locations wouldn’t be able to provide the patterns and colors they were looking for. We ended up going with three different table linens for the reception: 2 for the guest tables with 2 different kinds of napkins, plus one additional table linen type for their sweetheart table. Brie’s family knew Annika with Hazel Designs, who was the most lovely person to work with, who brought in additional bright oranges and joy with the florals for the day.
The wedding day itself, the weather decided to absolutely pour outside for the first few hours we were at the venue. We had to work hard to keep the linens dry under the tent, which meant shifting tables closer together until the rain stopped, plus finding ways to weight them down because occasionally the wind would pick up. Getting glassware and florals on the tables quickly was key! After constantly checking our radar, the weather apps were correct and the sky opened up and it ended up being a perfect sunny day for their wedding guests.
Brie and Shawn opted to not see each other before the ceremony but wanted to do a first touch. The anticipation between those two during that moment was amazing. You could tell that one of them (or both) was going to be emotional during that ceremony processional. :)
When it came time for the ceremony outside in front of the fountain, Shawn was filled with emotions as Brie exited the house to see him. The photos that Into Dust Photography captured are amazing of those sweet moments.
After the ceremony, the couple had photos taken with their wedding party and families while guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside around the property. They enjoyed signature cocktails of aperol spritz as well as a blackberry gin and tonics.
Dinner was outside in the tent with toasts from family after. Everyone went inside for their cake cutting (with Shawn’s daughter to assist) plus their first dance and parent dances. The lighting for their first dance couldn’t be beat, so we worked to usher guests inside so they didn’t block the rays of light coming inside.
During the dance party, Brie changed into a second dress and a gorgeous sunset created some beautiful golden hour photos. At the end of the night, the couple had a private last dance inside while we prepped guests outside for their grand bubble exit.
This was such a fun day filled with wacky weather turned into gold (including a rainbow at one point!) plus so much love from all of their family and friends. Congratulations to Brie and Shawn!
