Mariana and Conrad - Imperia Lake Union fall bibliophile wedding
Married October 12, 2024
Mariana and Conrad were referred to me by a previous couple we had the pleasure of working with. They wanted assistance with planning their entire wedding starting with finding the perfect venue in Seattle that was within their budget.
We started off by doing just that: work on putting together a budget that reflected their wants and desires for the day. Using this, we set off to find the perfect venue to house their wedding ceremony and reception.
After looking at 3 venues in the Seattle area, they decided on Imperia Lake Union. They loved the style of the venue, that everything was included, that it was an indoor venue (a plus for a fall wedding) and that it could hold their anticipated guest count.
We worked together to bring forth a design that reflected their style, based on about 4 images pulled from the internet plus a design questionnaire. Mariana is a book lover, so she wanted to reflect that somehow in the design. She wanted to thrift vintage books and we used those as part of their centerpieces.
Conrad is a HUGE Seattle fan, having grown up in the area. With Mariana saying absolutely not to having the Mariner Moose there (much to Conrad’s dismay) I wanted to find a way to best reflect that Seattle pride without having it be too obvious. We worked with a graphic designer to create a custom print of the two of them in front of the Seattle skyline. They took M&C’s silhouettes and put them in the poster and I think it turned out amazing. Conrad did manage to get his little bit of Seattle Mariner action later during the dancing when the DJ called out for a 7th inning stretch, complete with “Take me out to the ballgame” followed by the old Seattle tradition of rolling right into “Louie Louie”. For those who knew, it was a treat.
Mariana wanted to have a chuppah for their ceremony to honor her Jewish heritage. We lined the aisle with the centerpieces that later were repurposed and went on top of the books on the outside booth tables. The long tables had a combination of books and bud vases across the center.
The guests enjoyed an open bar the entire night as well as passed appetizers, a wonderful plated meal, and then a variety of cake options from Deep Sea Sugar and Salt. After dinner and speeches, they danced the night away in the center of the venue before the party was over!
